I really enjoyed class today and learning about Fakebook. I thought that is was fun to create characters that we could invent the posts for to show kids. I think it will really capture their interest in a way that is funny and pulls them in. However, I had issues trying to find it later by going to fakebook.com. It is NOT the same site!!
I really liked to be able to see how things are cited in Wikipedia. i already had a clue as to how this worked, but we went into more detail in class that I thought was very helpful to pass on to students. Now we can help them use what they know in an intelligent way properly.
I like Facebook personally, but I am still a bit leery about using it for school. This is because of all of the negative stuff we see in the news with it causing issues and how the district has rules, not to mention what some students' parents have to say about it.
